Hi, I’m Darren, the Dad Matters coordinator for Leeds .
I’m here to help soon to be and new dads through their dad journey
I have worked in community health for over 20 years. I am married with 3 children and enjoy a bit of Rugby.
I’m based with the charity Home Start Leeds but you can most often find me ( usually on Mondays ) at both Leeds general infirmary and St James hospital on both ante natal units , neo natal units and the post delivery wards.
I’m here to talk to dads about their journey into fatherhood, offer advice on bonding and attachment, how you support your family and how your own mental health is.
If you need to chat to Darren please send a message via Facebook or Email darren.odonovan@home-startleeds.co.uk

Learn about Baby Communication in Leeds
Newborn Behaviour Observation (NBO)
At Dad Matters, our coordinators undertake Newborn Behaviour Observation (NBO) training during our induction. Babies cannot communicate verbally so their method of communication is their behaviour. The NBO course teaches us how to understand what a baby is communicating by looking at their behaviour through a series of gentle observations. We can then do this with you to show you what your baby is telling us about themselves.
To discuss arranging an NBO support session with our Dad Matters Leeds coordinator, please email Darren.Donovan@home-startleeds.co.uk
