Dad Matters in Yorkshire

What we do...

  • We work closely with other professionals locally and nationally to better support dads in the first 1001 days of their parenting journey.
  • We offer outreach services/drop-ins at maternity centres, and community venues, provide 1:1 peer support to dads, signpost and support dads to access services and information to help make sense of being a dad and supporting dads with anxiety, stress and mental health awareness
  • Dad Matters is a perinatal and parent/infant peer support service for dads and male carers. Developed by Home-Start HOST and delivered by Home-Start schemes across the UK, we reach thousands of dads universally and hundreds with one to one peer support each year .
  • We work with dads and their families to support with attachment and bonding, mental health and access to services. We have universal engagement, targeted outreach and one to one peer support, as well as our online engagement.
  • We are happy to share research requests around dads mental health, parenting and perinatal experiences, including loss and NICU, and can share requests to our most popular platforms. We offer a range of peer support opportunities for dads
  • Online we have platforms on Facebook, X (formerly twitter,) Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Collectively we have over 25k followers, including over 1000 dads in our closed Facebook groups. these are currently run joint with Manchester but you are welcome to join us we will be developing some Yorkshire based social media groups very soon.
