Hi I’m Maggie
I’m here to help soon to be and new dads through their dad journey.
I am mum of two and I have worked for Home-Start Kirklees for the last two years with families that are struggling with loneliness and social isolation. My background is in Midwifery, and I was a Community Midwife for most of my career working with the whole family to welcome a new life into their world.
Becoming a dad is exciting but it brings its own challenges, worries and new skills. Dad Matters is here to support dads through their journey, and I am looking forward being the Dad Matters Co-ordinator for Kirklees, empowering dads and using my experience in a new role.

We aim to engage with dads to distribute information and resources on attachment and bonding, supporting both parent’s mental health and signposting to other useful appropriate services for further support.
Our Services
One-to One support
Dads can get 1:1 support with our Co-ordinator to talk, explore options, access support and resources for yourself and the rest of the family.
New Dads Workshop
Join Dad Matters for a FREE online workshop for dads-to-be and new dads with babies under 12 weeks old. During this online video session, we will talk about our three key topics; Attachment and Bonding, Mum’s and Dad’s Mental Health and Wellbeing and Access to Appropriate Services
Volunteer with us
If you’re a dad who’s had experience with Under 2s in the past and would like to help other dads, who are in a current situation you may have been, then we would love to hear from you, your help and input can be invaluable.
Even if you haven’t had a difficult experience with being a dad, then don’t let this put you off, you will also have a lot to bring to others. All our volunteers are given training and support is on hand every day.
